Bible Verse Challenge

Read Time:1 Minute, 26 Second

This game is a simple one. All you need is a Bible for each player and a list of verses from various books in the Bible. You will divide the group into 2 teams and give every player a Bible. With Bibles closed, you will call out a Bible verse. (I suggest writing it on a dry-erase board/chalkboard too or having it printed on a piece of paper in a place everyone can see it.) Everyone races to find the Bible verse. The first person to find it stands up. You check it to make sure it’s the correct one, while encouraging everyone else to keep looking. When everyone has found the verse, the person who found it first reads it out loud. Their team gets the point. Then you do it all over again with a new verse.

This game is an old one. Some of you may be reading this, saying, “Really? This game? In this day and age?” But my answer is, “Yes, this game, even today.” With modern technology, finding a bible verse is as easy as a Google search. You can put the whole Bible on your phone or device and find verses in seconds. But, there is always the possibility of technology being unavailable or unreliable. We should equip believers with the ability to pick up a Bible anywhere and find a verse they are looking for. This simple game, which can be played by adults and kids alike, can help people learn to do that and have fun at the same time.
